My Course Reflections June 15, 2008

I cant believe that this class is slowly coming to an end… I am truly amazed. This is perhaps one of the hardest classes that I have had in a long time. I take that back, its not that the work was difficult… it was just that every assignment was so involved. I have never had so many side projects going on in one class… it literally made my head spin at times. I can say however, that I am taking away a wealth of knowledge as well as resources from this class. Perhaps the one project that frustrated me the most, yet I learned the most from it, was the WebQuest project. Their were so many layers to that project that when I finally completed it I had to share it with any and everyone around me.

I don’t have any suggestions for the class, except for the fact that you always have to pay more to take an on-line class, which bites. The sad thing this time was that for our class we were not truly an on-line class because we meet three times, so why should we have to pay this extra money??? Ok, I am done complaining…

Thank you again Kristi for all that you have done, and your effort to keep up on the grade book in a timely matter was remarkable.

Thats it…. Did I pass… Do I get to clear my level II… Do I get my clear credential now????

My WebQuest Project May 28, 2008

Ok… I don’t know about the rest of ya’ all, but I am getting so confused with this WebQuest project.  I have chosen to design a lesson plan that helps students learn about the elements of a short though the use of common fairy tales. However, what I have come across is a BIG MESS!!! I am really not found of the format the WebQuest uses as far as text goes. Every time I write something in word I have to copy and paste into my WebQuest project and it never looks the same as it did in my word document. I then have to spend another 20 or so minutes to try and figure out how to fix it…… so frustrating.

As of right now, Tuesday, I have finished little parts, but not one complete section. I have played with color and have tried to incorporate pictures into my WebQuest, but I have yet to finish a section. Every time I think I am close I go back to “preview” my WebQuest, and find something else wrong with it, or something new that needs to be added… UGH!!!

I still need to add a video, pictures, and finalize my lesson plan. I have many ideas its just actually siting down and finding the time to complete it all.

What I have notice from this experience; thus far; is that it that it takes a lot of time and effort to put one of these things together. To much time if you ask me…lol

Tapped-In 5/21/08 May 22, 2008

So… we just got done with our first official Tapped-In session, and I think it went GREAT!!! At first I was a little nervous, because I couldn’t find my log-in information, but then I found it… Thank goodness, because their would have gone my grade. HA HA. As far as suggestions for next time I am going to have to remember to detach my screen, because I was having a heck of a time trying to read everyones comments in that little 4in section. I did make my font bigger, so that helped, but I was still having to go back and forth to read everyones comments. I liked how we were broken up into groups to answer the questions. That made it eaiser to read the responses.

SIDENOTE…. I am amazed by all the different levels in this class. We are such a diverse class, just like our classes with our students.

I cant wait to see everyones Webquest project

First BLOG…

Not sure what to write, just trying to see how everything works around here. I don’t want to take the time to read, so I thought I would try to write my first BLOG and see what I get. I feel strange starting a BLOG where all I do is talk about myself… can this really interest anyone besides myself? This is just weird :}
